Recently a solo exhibition of Márta Kucsora paintings was opened in New York. The exhibition hosted by the Postmasters Gallery in the art district of Manhattan displays ten monumental paintings by the artist of the Kálmán Makláry Fine Arts.
The selection titled Super Natural is Kucsora’s debut in the United States of America. The American gallery compared her art to that of the most significant abstract painters, e.g. Jackson Pollock, Helen Frankenthaler, and Gerchard Richter.
Control over accidental, rhythm, and order in chaos — these are the essence of the Kucsora paintings; her key concepts are nature and abstraction. The artist herself considers her own paintings to be abstractions of nature; however, she never depicts nature directly but recalls the transformations taking place in it, for instance, the movement of the sea or the atmosphere of the autumn landscape.
Márta Kucsora’s exhibition in New York is open until 1st May. As soon as the epidemiological situation permits, a new solo exhibition will open at the Kálmán Makláry Fine Arts, the Budapest gallery representing the artist.
In recent years, Kálmán Makláry Fine Arts has also presented Kucsora’s works at major international art fairs, including the Masterpiece London Air Fair, the BRAFA in Brussels, and at the Art Paris.
