The Csiky Gergely Theatre’s award-winning film “Early Wedding”, shot in Kaposvár, was selected for the 17th edition of the ÉCU Film Festival in Paris.
The film, which is set to premiere in Hungary in May, will debut in Paris among 58 films from 26 countries between 8-10 April.
The multi-actor film, which won a grant in the National Film Institute’s competition for cooperation between theatres and filmmakers, was a co-production between the Gergely Csiky Theatre in Kaposvár and Blue Duck Arts, based on the theatre’s performance of the same title.
The film is produced by Péter Roskó, co-owner of Blue Duck Arts; co-produced by Dr. Péter Fülöp, director of the Gergely Csiky Theatre; directed by artistic director Tamás Olt, who wrote and directed the theatre performance; and actor, screenwriter and film director Csaba Vékes.
The Hungarian premiere will take place on 17 March at the Rainbow Palace of Culture.
