This announcement is a continuation of a collaboration which began in 2008 between Alexander Liebreich and the Taiwan’s leading orchestra, driven by a musical affinity and complicity forged over the years. Starting in 2026, the Orchestra will count on its new maestro for a three-year term, opening a new chapter in the history of the TSO, following on from maestro Eliahu Inbal’s tenure.

Great pieces from the repertoire and new collaborations will punctuate the 25-26 season of the TSO in this new momentum. Among the highlights not to be missed, a grand inaugural concert will take place on March 12th, 2026 to celebrate Alexander Liebreich new conductorship, alongside Lisa Bathiasvili and Gauthier Capuçon who will present the world premiere of the new piece of French-Chinese composer Qigang Chen.

In addition to the upcoming symphonic concerts, Alexander Liebreich and the TSO will also bring to the stage the opera Tristan und Isolde, presented in a new staging in 2026.
