Iván Fischer will be hosting the Arab-Jewish ensemble Shesh Besh, musicians from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, at the OMIKE event on 7 March, which was re-established last year.
Shesh Besh – the Arab-Jewish Ensemble brings together musicians of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra with the finest musicians from the Arab community in northern Israel. The ensemble was founded in 2000.
The ensemble members’ onstage presence and musicianship reflect their belief that the language of music has the ability to bind hearts and build real bridges between people. Shesh Besh is part of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra’s „KeyNote” music education and community programme, made possible with the support of the IPO UK Foundation.
Musically, The Arab-Jewish Ensemble creates a unique multi-cultural environment, playing music of the Middle-East, classical music and original compositions.
