On the initiative of the Russian-Ukrainian violist Maxim Rysanov, more than a dozen world-famous musicians will give a concert on June 9 at the Academy of Music to alleviate wartime suffering.
Grammy nominated violist and conductor Maxim Rysanov’s words on the June charity concert:
“This war effected me directly. Many members of my family all around Ukraine had to leave their homes behind. Some couldn’t leave the country and joined territorial defence.
As a musician I felt I should be able to help. I initiated this concert to try raise funds for Ukraine and received passionate support from organisations such as Liszt Academy, Festival Academy Budapest and Papageno.
I have created a unique programme consisted of music written during war times and Invited a dozen of international classical stars to take part. Three of the musicians are Russians. It is significant for me that Russians too stand with Ukraine.
All the money collected from the tickets sales and possible additional donations will go to Ukraine.
We are hoping to see many of you!”
