The Opéra de Lausanne presents Ralph Benatzky’s acclaimed operetta in its much-loved French version by Paul Bonneau, sumptuously staged by Gilles Rico and conducted by Jean-Yves Ossonce.
French adaptation that conductor Jean-Yves Ossonce and director Gilles Rico bring to the stage at the Opéra de Lausanne, in a lavishly visual production boasting a highly colourful soundscape. In addition to some name changes and alterations to the plot, the French version also contains two compositions by Robert Stolz that are absent from the German version.
Fabienne Conrad and Mathias Vidal play the main roles of the landlady Josefa and head waiter Leopold. By their side are Patrick Rocca, playing Marseille merchant Napoléon Bistagne, Clémentine Bourgoin as his daughter Sylvabelle and Julien Dran as the lawyer, Maître Florès.
