Post Mortem, directed by Péter Bergendy and starring Viktor Klem and Fruzsina Hais, was awarded the Best Feature Film and Best SFX prizes by the jury of the Grimmfest in Manchester.
The Easter edition of the Manchester International Fantastic Film Festival, Grimmfest Easter, closed with a double Hungarian success. At the online awards ceremony broadcast on Facebook, it was revealed that Post Mortem, directed by Péter Bergendy, won both the Best Feature Film and the Best Special Effects Award.
The awards were decided by an international jury of professional judges at Grimmfest, which was ranked as one of the best horror festivals in the world in 2022 by the Dread Central magazine. Set during the Spanish flu epidemic following the First World War, the special effects for the ghost film were created by Gábor Hellebrandt, Zoltán Benyó, Ferenc Deák, László Kósa, and Zoltán Hardi.
The Hungarian motion picture has been a success at international film festivals for a year and a half, has been invited to some 40 festivals and has won several awards in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Canada, at the most popular genre film festivals.
