On Wednesday, October 12th, 2022, Le Dimore del Quartetto presents and celebrates in Brussels the achievements at the conclusion of the three steps of the MUSA project – European young MUsicians soft Skills Alliance.
The MUSA presentation event aims to disseminate the results of the project at the European level through the direct testimonies of the musicians and representatives of the institutions involved. A new learning tool developed by one of the most important Italian universities that will be freely available to musicians, professionals, academies, and conservatories, to strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of those who want to pursue an artistic career in music in our century.
The ASK Research Center – Università Bocconi presents in fact a Handbook for higher education programs in cultural entrepreneurship for young musicians, entitled “The Entrepreneurial String Quartet: Key Learnings from the MUSA Project”, and a Research – Case study on Le Dimore del Quartetto. The handbook and research are the result of work done during MUSA’s 25 months of activities in the three partner countries: Italy, Portugal and France. These are key findings that help make MUSA’s results sustainable and replicable on a large scale.
The event in Brussels will include a panel discussion at the Gare Maritime aimed at presenting proposals related to connecting the models developed in the fields of music education, cultural heritage, and circular economy. Francesca Moncada (founder of Le Dimore del Quartetto and creator of MUSA) and Paola Dubini (Professor and Researcher of Università Bocconi) introduce the round table, whereas the guest speakers are Paul Dujardin (chief project director at Royal Museum of Arts and History in Brussels), Alfonso Pallavicini (President of the European Historic Houses), Xavier Pelgrims De Bigard (owner of Grand-Bigard Castle), Sneška Quaedvlieg Mihailović (Secretary General of Europa Nostra), Fiona Robertson (violinist in the Belinfante Quartet) and Pau Marquès I Oleo (founding member of the Belinfante Quartet), Igor E. Zanti (Global Head of Arts & Restoration at IED – European Design Institute), Yasmin Hilberdink (founder of the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam).
In the evening the Grand Bigard Castle will host a concert for speakers and project partners with the Belinfante Quartet to conclude the day.
MUSA is an innovative project co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union that responds to the transformation of the music industry and the new needs of private heritage, and is destined to become a reference point for the new generation of young people entering a concert career.
