On 26 and 27 August, the 2nd Zoltán Kodály International Music Competition will continue with the third round in Debrecen, where conductors compete this year.
308 young musicians from 56 countries on five continents applied to the 2nd Kodály Zoltán Kodály International Music Competition, organized by the Kodály Philharmonia Debrecen and JM Hungary from 20-28 August.
The following competitors have been shortlisted for the all-important third round:

During the Zoltán Kodály International Music Competition, young conductors work with the ensembles of the Kodály Philharmonia Debrecen. In the third round, each contestant will conduct Zoltán Kodály’s Psalmus Hungaricus, composed exactly 100 years ago, with István Kovácsházi as soloist.
The final rounds will start at 7 pm on both days, with a rehearsal day on 25 August at 2 pm, also part of the competition.

The international jury of seven is chaired by a true legend, 92-year-old Jorma Panula.

The free rounds of the competition will take place in the Great Hall of the Kölcsey Centre, while the final event (Award Ceremony and Gala Concert) will also take place in the Kölcsey Centre on 28 August, for which registration tickets are available for HUF 500.
