The 2021 Oscar nominations were announced Monday morning. Vanessa Kirby is among the Academy Award nominees in the best actress category for playing the lead role in Pieces of a Woman, written by Kata Wéber and directed by Kornél Mundruczó.
The actress was nominated for a Golden Globe earlier, but did not receive it. In Kornél Mundruczó’s movie, she plays a mother mourning her baby lost in a tragic home birth. Vanessa Kirby has already won the best-actress award at the Venice Film Festival.
