On the occasion of the New Year, music teacher-choir master Gabriella Rechner-Boda was awarded the title of Chevalier dans l’Ordre de la Légion d’honneur (the National Order of the Legion of Honour).
Gabriella Rechner-Boda graduated in Debrecen under the supervision of Prof. Zsolt Szesztay. In 1979 she moved to Morocco, where she worked for twenty years. She trained music teachers and created the first children’s choir in the country, the Chanterie de Rabat.
In 1998, she travelled to the French capital and took over the direction of the Paris Opera’s children’s choir. In 1999, she was awarded the prestigious Chevalier des Arts et Lettres (Order of the Arts and the Letters) by the French State.
Accompanying her diplomat husband, she continued her music education in Beijing from 2002 and in New Delhi from 2006. Since 2010 she has been the director of the Sartre Vocal Academy and since 2015 she has been the choir master of the Pléiade Choir of Versailles. Since 2020, he has been teaching at her dwelling place, near Paris.
In 2019 she was awarded the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit.
