President of the Republic Tamás Sulyok awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary to pianist Muza Rubackyte, President of the Lithuanian Franz Liszt Society, in Vilnius.
President Tamás Sulyok will participate in the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) summit in the Lithuanian capital on 11 April.
„The meeting will focus on the further development of the Three Seas Initiative with the participation of the Heads of State of the participating countries, invited guests and strategic partners”, the President of Hungary told the press on the sidelines of the Summit.
He stressed that Hungary can define itself as a Central European country, and since Central Europe is bound together by a common history and a common culture, the Three Seas Initiative also means a lot to it. Tamás Sulyok added that the Three Seas Initiative will bring Central Europe together in terms of infrastructure and development.
Every year, the 3SI Summit and Business Forum is organised with the participation of 13 countries from the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Romania, Greece and Bulgaria.
The aim of the Three Seas Initiative is to promote cooperation, in particular to develop infrastructure in the energy, transport and digital sectors, with a view to new investments, economic growth and energy security.
Before the summit, the visiting President of the Hungarian Republic presented the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary to Muza Rubackyte, pianist, music teacher and President of the Lithuanian Franz Liszt Society, Artistic Director of the Vilnius Piano Festival, in recognition of his dedication to the promotion of Franz Liszt’s oeuvre, including the founding of the Lithuanian Liszt Society, LISZTuania, and the regular Lisztofonija Piano Competition.
