The 16th Concours Géza Anda, which will take place from 30 May to 8 June in Zurich and Winterthur, will feature a junior jury for the first time.
The junior jury consists of students or graduates from six Swiss universities of music from three language regions (FHNW Basel, HKB Bern, HEMU Lausanne, HEM Geneva, Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana Lugano, ZHdK Zurich) as well as a winner of the Rahn Culture Prize 2024 for piano.
The establishment of a junior jury will give both the younger generation of aspiring master pianists and the Swiss piano scene a powerful voice within the framework of our competition. At the same time, we would like to stimulate the exchange between Swiss music academies.
As a bonus, the members of the Junior Jury will gain invaluable insights into an important part of their profession by getting to know the process and different aspects of one of the most renowned international piano competitions up close.
This also includes the professional exchange with the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Tonhalle Zurich and the competition jury, which in 2024 will consist of Martha Argerich, Ricardo Castro, Zlata Chochieva, Lucas Debargue, Konstanze Eickhorst, Rico Gulda, Toshio Hosokawa, Robert Levin and Dénes Várjon.
As part of a partnership with the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, a young member of the Junior Jury of the 2023 Rubinstein Competition will chair the jury.
The Junior Jury is supported by the Fondation Francis and Marie-France Minkoff. Find out more about the 16th Concours Géza Anda 2024 here.
