From 30 May to 8 June, the 16th Géza Anda International Piano Competition takes place in Zurich and Winterthur, and you can follow all the rounds live on our website.
The jury of the Géza Anda International Piano Competition Switzerland is chaired by Rico Gulda. The members of the jury are Martha Argerich, Ricardo Castro, Zlata Chochieva, Lucas Debargue, Konstanze Eickhorst, Toshio Hosokawa, Robert Levin and Dénes Várjon.
According to the jury the next six competitors qualified for the semi-finals:
- Daumants Liepiņš,
- Wataru Hisasue,
- Dmitry Yudin,
- Liang Dai,
- Kate Liu
- Ilya Shmukler
During the competition, the young pianists will be accompanied by the Musikkollegium Winterthur and the Orchestra of the Tonhalle Zurich, conducted by Mihail Pletnyov and Paavo Järvi. In the semi-finals, the contestants will have to perform a Mozart piano concerto.
